Cost Controller - Oil & Gas Industry

Our Client, a leading global provider of engineering and construction services to the global oil & gas industry has a fantastic opportunity for a Cost Controller.

Reporting directly to the Senior Cost Controller, the purpose of this role is to monitor the ongoing and preparation of progress claims, including invoicing of milestone achievements and/ or recharging of costs to clients, including:

• Monthly Processing, Review and Monitoring of all project costs, Estimated Costs To Complete (ETCs);
• Ensure all costs are captured and allocated correctly against projects;
• Querying and investigating significant overruns in materials or man-hours;
• Monitoring cash flows’ ins and outs for individual projects;
• Reporting contribution of individual projects’;
• Validating status of all jobs, and preparation of WIP numbers for Senior Cost Control to calculate revenue and contribution;
• Preparation of Project Management Report for Project Managers and explain variances and flagging any potential risk or benefits;
• Preparation of labour utilisation report for review by Senior Cost Controller;
• Review and assist in the preparation of quotes and costing for potential projects, including setting up budgets and payment schedules for projects based on awarded contracts and providing input on projected cash flow and Liaising with accountant to hedge costs in foreign currencies,
• Reviewing job costing procedures and system reports to identify areas for improvement and enhancing
• Other ad-hoc tasks as required

To be considered you will be CA, CPA or CIMA qualified with 3-5 years experience as a Cost Controller within a medium to large organisation servicing to the oil & gas, engineering or construction industry. In addition you will have a resources and/or contracting sector background coupled with experience utilising an ERP system such as SAP or similar and very strong Excel skills.
