Senior Tax Accountant - Mining

Our Client, an internationally listed diversified mining company has a newly created opportunity for an experienced Senior Tax Accountant for their Corporate Division based in the CBD.

Reporting to the Taxation Manager, the purpose of this challenging role is to perform duties as follows:

• Preparation of Group Business Activity Statements
• Preparation of Income Tax Returns for Group taxable entities
• Preparation of tax effect accounts with notes to Annual Reports
• Preparation of FBT returns
• Compliance reporting such as GST, FBT and Payroll Tax
• Tax queries from various Business Units
• Assist with changes and amendments to Group systems, processes and practices that improve compliance efficiency and result in most effective application of all tax legislation
• Assist with technical research


To be considered for this fantastic role you will need to be degree qualified in taxation, accounting or finance and have CPA/CA qualification or part thereof. Whilst a sound knowledge of taxation principles and concepts is integral to his role, ideally you will have a minimum of 4-5 years ideally Big 4 experience in taxation with some exposure in accounting.

A high level of attention to detail coupled with a conscientious work ethic will stand you in great stead for this challenging role. In addition, it is imperative that you have well developed interpersonal and communication skills.
