With the recent acquisition of a significant asset, our client, a listed mining company with world class assets and operations, has a fantastic opportunity for a Mine Accountant to strategically assist the company’s move towards production and be an integral part in contributing to the management of a world-class mining operation.

Reporting to the Finance & Administration Manager you will be responsible for overseeing the production of monthly management reports, analysis of financial results and variance reporting on KPIs. In addition, you will also manage, coordinate and improve the accounting and reporting function for the mine site through close liaison with all levels of operational personnel. Other responsibilities will include inventory valuations, evaluation of capital expenditure projects, forecasting and budgeting.

To satisfy the requirements of this position you would firstly be a highly motivated and outcome oriented person, with a keen interest in wanting to be involved with the company in every respect. In addition to strong communication skills, a proven ability to meet strict deadlines is essential.

Applicants will hold an appropriate tertiary accounting qualification (CA/ CPA) and several years experience in relevant roles in a commercial environment. Experience in the mining industry and Pronto ERP systems will be highly regarded but not essential.
