With the recent acquisition of a significant asset, our client, a listed mining company with world class assets and a portfolio of 4 operating mines located across three continents, has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Projects Officer to strategically assist the company’s move towards production and be an integral part in contributing to a world-class mining operation.

This is an exciting and new opportunity to join an outstanding global organisation. Leader in its sector, this organisation has recently expanded its Australian operations.

Based in West Perth, this role reports to the Project Accountant where the primary objective of this challenging post is to complete all required tasks to maintain the accounts payable ledger and all related accounts payable functions. Your primary duties will be as follows:

Data entry of purchase orders and invoices
Loading of payments into banking software and processing payments/ remittances
Supplier statement reconciliations
Regular communication with suppliers regarding account status
Maintaining supplier information
Assisting the Project Accountant with month end processes including bank reconciliations and ad-hoc reporting requirements
Preparation of accruals and commitments
To assist in providing Accounts Payable and Pronto training to staff
Assist in implementation of Accounts Payable procedures
Assist with GST/FBT reporting

To be considered for this brilliant opportunity it is envisaged that you have 5 years experience gained in the mining/ resources sector with foreign currency exposure. Candidates with exposure to Pronto will be held in high regard, however candidates with knowledge of Oracle, JDE, SAP or similar are strongly encouraged to apply.
