Our client, an ASX listed company with international operations in contract mining, civil engineering and transport services, has an exciting opportunity for a Payroll Officer to play a key role within their friendly payroll team.

Due to the resource boom this dynamic organisation has experienced considerable growth and has a bright future ahead. This challenging post will require a self-starter who is hungry to succeed in a fast pased environment.

Based in Subiaco, this role reports directly to the Payroll Supervisor. The purpose of the position is to provide timely, accurate payroll data to ensure ongoing employee salary payments. Your list of duties will be as follows:

Pay employees in a manner consistent with relevant awards and agreements
Report payroll information to the project managers on a regular basis
Monitor performance and compliance in relation to payroll processes and procedures
Maintain up to date employee data by making personnel changes in a timely manner
Provide support and advice to employee and administrative personnel on pay related issues
Recommend changes to payroll processes and procedures to improve efficiency
Employee payslips detailing the nature makeup of pay as measured by timeliness and accuracy
Payroll reports for project managers detailing worked hours, total salary amounts, and deductions
Daily timesheet postings to the general ledger detailing hours worked and monies paid
Accurate employee data (including such things as master file changes to addresses, banking details etc)
Advise employees (consistent with awards and other agreements) on pay, leave entitlements, superannuation payments, taxation payments, and group certificates
Advise personnel (consistent with awards and other agreements) on such things as pay adjustments and employee separations.

This exciting role requires that you have a minimum of 2 years payroll experience and an good knowledge of computerised payroll systems.
