Our Client, an ASX Listed Australian Iron Ore Mining company, which is positioned in the world market as a niche player, is currently seeking the services of a Senior Corporate Accountant.

Leader in its sector, this organisation’s objectives are to improve returns from their existing businesses, deliver long term growth in earnings per share and seek growth opportunities to provide enhanced shareholder return through exploration success, incremental expansion opportunities and prudent acquisitions.

Reporting directly to the Group Financial Controller, the Senior Corporate Accountant is a pivotal role that oversees the corporate accounting and reporting functions for the corporate and management companies. Your list of duties will be as follows:

Oversee the accounting and reporting for the corporate and management entities
Preparation of monthly management reports
Reporting System Development and Improvement
Oversee the Preparation of all financial and statutory reports
Oversee treasury reporting and accounting
Assist in the preparation of budgets as required for corporate entities
Half Year and Year End schedules as required
Update (SarbOx) procedures as required
Participate in regular performance development reviews as determined by management

The ideal applicant will be CA/CPA with an accounting or commerce degree and previous experience in a senior accounting role within a mining organisation. It is essential that you have a strong understanding of key accounting concepts and AIFRS. Candidates that have an understanding of US GAAP are encouraged to apply and will be held in high regard.

The ability to balance technical work with a commercial focus and to identify process changes is a prerequisite if you are to succeed in this challenging position. As a consequence, we are looking for a professional and enthusiastic candidate with a mature and confident manner as well as good communication and IT skills.
